A Bacteriological Comparison between Synthetic and Natural Glycerol.
نویسنده
چکیده
The superior quality of glycerol synthesized.from propylene (Groll, et al., 1938; Williams, 1938, 1941), as compared with glycerol obtained from fats and oils, has been reported by Williams (1938) and confirmed by studies in pharmacology (Hart, 1939) and experiments in histology (Nichols, 1941). Since glycerol is a constituent of numerous culture media for microorganisms, the value of synthetic glycerol as a substitute for natural glycerol would be of interest to microbiologists. In this study the development of certain micro6rganisms in natural glycerol media was compared with growth in corresponding synthetic glycerol media.

Comparison of the Effect of Natural Turpentine and Synthetic Sugar Free Gums on Dental Plaque pH Recovery
Introduction:Many different kinds of chewing gum can increase the flow of saliva, and they have been proven to have anti-bacterial effects as well. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of natural turpentine and synthetic sugar-free gums on dental plaque pH after a sucrose challenge. Methods: This randomized clinical trial was conducted on 15 subjects, who refrained from oral hygiene ...

Sand coverings account for a large part of the cost of a project. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of different coatings for filtration of underground drains and reduce the cost of cornfield farms. The experiments were carried out in farm in Salman Farsi. The subsoil drainage was fitted to each test piece with a length of 120 meters, a diameter of 100 mm, and a distance ...
متن کاملDestruction of Amylopectin in the Presence and Absence of TiO2 Nanoparticles
Today, the use of natural polymers and their replacement with synthetic polymers in various fields of science has attracted much attention. Reducing the associated risks, easy access, and being cost-effective are among the advantages of using natural polymers compared to the synthetic polymers. In this research, the destruction of amylopectin in the presence and absence of titanium dioxide nano...
متن کاملAntioxidant and Antimicrobial Potential of Echinacea purpurea Extract and Its Effect on Extension of Cake Shelf Life
Background: Oxidation of lipids causes reduction of different properties of products that contains lipids. Nowadays, there is a growing demand for the natural antioxidants due to the harmful effects of synthetic antioxidants such as BHA, BHT and TBHQ. Objective: In this study, extract of aerial parts of Echinacea purpurea L. was used instead of synthetic antioxidants in cake then, ant...
متن کاملThe Stabilizing Effect of Natural and Synthetic Antioxidant on Mutton Tallow- Evaluation of DSC and its Comparison with Rancimat
The antioxidant activities of TBHQ, BHT and tocopherol mixtures at different concentrations (0, 100, 200, 400 mg/kg) have been evaluated by the application of Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Rancimat apparatus. Rancimat apparatus that measures the secondary oxidation products was set at 110 ⁰C with an air flow of 18-20 L/h to measure the induction period (IP) of the samples. The DSC...
